What a year it’s been. I want to share some inspiration and thanks. Our clean studio space has remained open for continual exercise and strength. For this, I am grateful because it has not been easy. The staff and the clients work hard to keep it going. For this, I am grateful because asking for help is difficult to do. The goal for the new year is to thrive and to help people live long in their bodies that move. For this, I am grateful as goals sustain and motivate me. I could not have done this year without my faithful family and friends so for this, I am extremely thankful. ![]() I am lucky to have received a most special gift recently from a dear friend and it’s a book titled The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse written by Charlie Mackesy. If you can find a copy, please grant yourself this gift. It is now my source of strength and wisdom. As we tackle 2021, our goal for the studio is to remain open, offering in-person pilates and yoga classes as well as virtual sessions. We want to also continue all private appointments, showcase cozy athleisure wear and local Cincinnati businesses in our boutique, and most importantly, support our instructors and clients as much as possible. We can only do this as a team. Thank you again for your support. Please stay safe, maintain social distance and come into the studio when you are feeling good. We can’t wait to see you! Here’s to a brand new year, together! Kelli |

3 Months and Counting
Dear Pilates Center of Cincinnati clients and friends, Believe it or not it has been three months since we re-opened. Time flies when you’re having fun! I want to sincerely THANK all of our clients who have returned to the studio. We are mighty! We are strong! And without your support, the studio would not be surviving. Our staff is continuing to work hard and will do so in the future for your safety, your strength and your wellness. And for those clients that have supported us virtually and from afar, THANK YOU very much. We miss so many of you and look forward to the day when normalcy returns. Until then, please check the website for updates. One constant that has not changed is our indoor mask/face covering mandate: please wear your mask at all times unless you are exercising and properly distanced. Once your class or session is over, place your mask/face covering back on to clean the equipment and exit. Thank you kindly. |
Class and Staff Updates Yoga is making a return! Introductory package: 5 classes for $55 We are blessed with a fabulous instructor who is looking for a new home to continue her yoga practice. Let me introduce Megan McCuen. Megan experienced her first yoga class in 2006 and was instantly attracted to the benefits of both mind and body. She completed the 200 RYT training in 2017 with focus on the tradition of Ashtanga yoga. She is certified to teach Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. Her class will be a mixed level class, using all three styles to keep the variety and structure of the class fresh and exciting. Megan is teaching Mondays at 8:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.. She is a physical therapist with over 30 years experience, primarily in orthopedics and geriatrics. She and her husband, Mike, have 6 children and live in Montgomery. We are lucky to have her and are excited to offer yoga again. ![]() |
Her classes will begin the week of September 14th. This is perfect timing, as we will be taking a break from our virtual offerings for the month of September. Thank you to Lama for teaching all of our virtual classes – we appreciate you! Welcome Chrisi Naber to Floor and Mat classes! Thank you to Melissa for encouraging and supporting Chrisi’s growth as an instructor during this pandemic. We are so thrilled to have a fresh and friendly face in our Pilates family and look forward to joining your classes, Chrisi. |
Masks and More XO 7.8.2020
Dear Pilates Center of Cincinnati clients and friends,
Governor DeWine and the Ohio Board of Health announced a mandatory mask order for all counties, such as Hamilton County, that are at Level 3 and it becomes effective tonight (July 8th) at 6PM until September 8th. Specific guidelines have been released for some sectors, but not yet for fitness centers.
According to the Cincinnati.com article:
https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2020/07/08/covid-19-how-hamilton-county-enforce-its-mask-mandate/5396801002/, if you are exercising indoors and properly distanced, you do not have to wear your mask. Therefore as a reminder, please honor 6-foot distancing at all times and stay in your cars until just before class or your private session begins.
Where we can use your help is before entering the studio:
- Put your mask or face covering on
- Only bring in what is absolutely necessary i.e. keys and water bottle
- If you are not feeling well, please stay home
While in the studio:
- Go directly to your designated studio assignment and store your personal belongings in that same space, clean your hands with sanitizer
- Before leaving, sanitize your area and your hands again and please exit the studio immediately following the end of your class/session, placing your mask or face covering on
With regards to our style of breathing while doing pilates, we ask you to articulate the breath but less profound please. Thank you for your continued support and stay well, helpful and mobile. Here’s to 2021!

How to setup before attending a class or private online:
To make your experience go smoothly – please review the following.
- Download the ZOOM app for laptop or desktop here
Download the ZOOM app if you are on a mobile device here

- Make sure your screen saver is off or set for more than 1 hour.
- Setup beforehand and try to adjust your camera so that the instructor can see all of you standing and prone on the mat. Seeing you clearly will help them to cue you individually whenever needed.
- Aim your camera away from bright windows or close curtains/blinds/shades that are behind you.
- Turn on all the lights!
- If you’re using a tablet or phone – please use in the horizontal position
- If you’re using a tablet or phone – please have a plan for aiming it. Something to prop it against, etc.… Laptop is easiest if you have one with a camera!
- Grab a Pilates mat, Yoga mats or towel. The instructor will mention any other needed props before the start of class
- Please join the class 5 minutes prior to have some time to get setup
If you would like to test your setup beforehand – just email us here
